The practice of tattooing is thousands of years old that’s why the art of tattooing remains popular and people get them for many reasons. Tattoos can be awesome and very hot but only if they are done right. But as popular as they are they also have some drawbacks. Many people did not know that tattoos are not always good for health. Tattooing can result in a variety of health effects because it is a permanent mark on your skin that is done with pigments inserted into your skin’s top layer through pricks. The skin infections and other complications can be caused by tattoos because they breach your skin.

Why Skin swell up after the needle pierces:

Many people can get an infection after having a tattoo but your skin will naturally swell up after the needle pierces your skin. Mostly, people who don’t take care of their skin after getting a tattoo and don’t apply proper ointment can get an infection.

Many people are allergic to tattoo dyes, especially red, green, blue and yellow dyes. These dyes can cause allergic skin reactions even years after you get the tattoo. The people who have sensitive skin find that their skin breaks out and they have an itchy rash at the tattoo site.

Are Keloids Are Similar To Granulomas?

Granulomas is another health condition that can cause after having a tattoo. They are basically little bumps of skin that tend to form around tattooed skin. This condition arises because the skin cells mix with the pigment cells and formed colorful looking moles.

Keloids are very similar to granulomas and caused by an overgrowth of scar tissue. This condition may increase your risk of skin cancer.

Tattoos can cause MRI complications. The tattoo ink can interfere with the quality of the image or the magnetism used by the machine can cause the tattoo to swell up or burn. Many other diseases can emerge after having a tattoo because if the needles are not clean or they have been used before you may develop diseases like hepatitis B and C.

Safety Precautions

You can do safety precautions before you get a tattoo. First and foremost, choose the location of your tattoo carefully and go to a trained tattoo artist. Make sure the tattoo artist wear a fresh pair of protective gloves and also use proper equipment like fresh needles and tubes.

Always keep your tattooed skin clean and apply a mild moisturizer to the tattooed area several times a day. Before you finally make a decision to have a tattoo its always worth understanding all the potential risks.
